Out of Province Inspection?

Safety?

Pre-Purchase?

Insurance?

If you are moving to Alberta from another province and bringing your vehicle, you will likely need an out-of-province inspection before registering it in Alberta. This inspection ensures your vehicle meets Alberta's safety and compliance standards. You must complete the inspection and register your vehicle within 90 days of becoming a resident of Alberta.

Our highly skilled technicians are fully licensed and extensively trained, always prepared to provide you with the most reliable advice possible. They will take the time to explain the current issues affecting your vehicle, as well as provide you with a detailed printout outlining any necessary repairs. This way, you will have the flexibility and confidence to make well-informed decisions regarding the vehicle inspection.

Who Requires an Out of Province Inspection

Out-of-province inspections are required for any vehicle coming into the province that has previous registration in another province or country.

How to start the Out-of-province inspection

  1. Purchase a Request for Vehicle Inspection Form from the Alberta Motor Registry (bring proof of ownership).

  2. Call for an appointment.

  3. Drop your vehicle off, it will take approximately 2 hours to complete.

  4. Finish all needed repairs in 10 days, or leave your vehicle with us to avoid needing another inspection from out of province.
